Since I started putting out IF-X, I've gotten a lot of attention from
both new creators looking to publish and veteran members of the indie
and small press communities who wonder how I've managed to get my books
out on time so easily and so often without the process breaking my bank
account. The answer is simple: I don't pay for them. If

Your Comics Without Losing Your Shirt." It contains just about everything
in my "publisher's bag of tricks," from the process of planning out a project
to composition and layout to finding a reasonably-priced printer to, of course,
FUNDING YOUR PRINT RUNS. Just ONE DOLLAR buys this pamphlet and $.50 pays for
the stamp (and a few extra pennies to round off the cost--until they raise postal
rates again!). In addition, I include my personal e-mail address so that
you can ask questions! I will warn you in advance that the reason I refer to this as my "bag of tricks" is because most of the secrets to solving the independent publisher's problems are so OBVIOUS that they are simply overlooked. When you buy this pamphlet, you might just smack your forehead and say, "I should have known this alreday," or (in the case of a seasoned veteran), "Why have I not been DOING this??" Many of the clues I give are things that people with good hearts and good projects DON'T do, whether due to laziness, fear of rejection, or just watching their friends make the same mistakes. To paraphrase one of my favorite TV shows, these are rookie mistakes, and you HATE to see them. If you ever wanted to publish a comic or other idea of your own, this is easily the best buck-and-a-half you could ever spend. |
